Tourism policy & International Tourist Tariff

Tourists can book a package holiday to Bhutan through both International and Bhutanese local tour operators. To make your dream come true, we, Gawaling Tours will assist or make all arrangement for your tours/trips to Bhutan.

The Royal Government of Bhutan sets minimum selling prices for packages to Bhutan and this must be paid in US dollars prior to arrival in Bhutan.The tariffs for tourist visiting in a group of 03 persons or more are as follows:-

High Season Tariff
(March, April, May, September, October & November)
: US$ 250/ person per night
Low Season Tariff
(June, July, August, December, January & February)
: US$ 200/ person per night

These minimum daily package rates are inclusive of the following services:-

  •  Accommodation on twin sharing basis
  •  All transfer and sightseeing within Bhutan
  • Services of accompanied guide
  • All meals
  • 35% Royalty (USD 65/person/Night) & taxes to the government
  • Riding ponies and pack animals on treks
  • Fees to temples & monuments

The rates given above are applicable per tourist per night halt in Bhutan. On the day of departure, the local agent’s obligation shall be limited breakfast only and any extra requirement shall be payable on actual basis. The above rates apply uniformly irrespective of locations and the type of accommodation provided/asked for. These accommodation establishments shall be approved by TCB.

Tariff for individual and small groups (FITs)

Individual tourists and smaller groups of less than three persons shall be subject to surcharges, as follows:-

Single Individual : US$ 40/ per night halt
Group of 02 : US$ 30/ per person per night halt.

These FIT surcharge are net Payable.
