We had a great time in Bhutan with Gawaling Tours. My mother had always wanted to go to this part of the world and I thought it would be a good time to have a bit of mother-daughter time in Bhutan. First off, the company showed great flexibility to tailor a program for us, because we thought the classic 4 nights/5 days tours were too short but 7 days would have been long because of our schedule. So they offered 6 days/5 nights including some of the requested from our side experiences – such as home stay. We were picked up by our guide Chogyal and driver Jimmy, who were extremely friendly and kind the whole time, very professional and accommodating. Chogyal is an excellent guide, knowledgable and able to present the history and religious details in a way that is very understandable and one can easily make links and learn quickly. Both showed great sense of humour and curiosity about our cultural background. Chogyal was very patient on the way to the Tiger’s Nest as my mother is a slow trekker. The vehicle we were driven in was basically new, there was fresh water all the time, the hotels were all well selected, the home stay was also very special. I would recommend this company definitely and if I ever come back (maybe for the Snowman Trek, one day :)) I would contact them again.
